Kathmandu – The Ministry of Health and Population and the World Hemophilia Federation have signed an agreement to provide free medication for patients suffering from hemophilia, a hereditary disorder that prevents blood from clotting.
On January 24, Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel decided to provide this facility through government hospitals.
As this disease requires highly expensive medication, many patients and stakeholders have been urging the government to take responsibility for its treatment. Now, the ministry will distribute the necessary medicines received from the federation through federal, provincial, and other government hospitals for the treatment of this complex hereditary and acquired disorder.
