- Support to Ministry of Health and Population for drafting national laws, policies and strategies for Disease Surveillance and Research.
- Prepare standards, protocols and guidelines related to disease surveillance and research.
- Support and coordination for the disease surveillance and research at the provincial and local level.
- Provide support for preparation and implementation of federal level annual work plan related to disease surveillance and research.
- Coordinating and collaborating with concerned authorities in federal level for disease surveillance and research activities.
- Coordinate and provide support in conducting information management training and other federal activities related to disease surveillance.
- Establishment and management of sentinel sites in coordination with province and local level as per necessity for surveillance of outbreak/epidemic prone disease through Early Warning Reporting System (EWARS).
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation, surveillance, survey and research activities at national level for disease control and management of emergency situations.
- Monitoring and supervision of disease surveillance and research related activities in coordination with province level and provide feedback to concern authorities accordingly.
